NEW DELHI: Punjab Congress chief Amrinder Singh Raja Warring on Thursday hinted at a possible change in the state party leadership, while refusing to comment on reports of his resignation and saying that “some issues are internal”.“I don’t want to comment anything now. I will let you all know. Some issues are internal…” Warring said when asked about reports of him quitting as president of the Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee (PPCC).As per sources, the decision has been conveyed to Warring and that he has offered to resign. Vijay Inder Singla, Pargat Singh, Rana KP Singh and Sukhbinder Singh Sarkaria are among those being considered to replace him, with Singla emerging as a frontrunner.Earlier, Congress appointed Sachin Pilot as the party’s general secretary in charge of Punjab, replacing former Chhattisgarh chief minister Bhupesh Baghel, news agency ANI reported.The party has been grappling with internal differences in Punjab, with rival factions seeking greater prominence ahead of the next Assembly elections. Warring had also faced criticism from sections of the party over its electoral performance and his leadership.
