OTET notification 2026: The Board of Secondary Education, Odisha has issued the notification for the Odisha Teacher Eligibility Test (OTET) 2026, inviting applications from both in-service and fresh candidates. The examination is conducted to determine eligibility for teaching positions in primary and upper primary classes in government schools across the state.The online application will begin from March 26, 2026, and will continue until April 9, 2026. The application will be accepted until 11:45 PM. The candidates are advised to apply through the official website and follow the guidelines.Application Schedule and ExaminationThe OTET 2026 examination will be scheduled to be held on May 29, 2026. The examination will be conducted in two shifts, and the first shift will be from 9:00 AM to 11:30 AM, and the second shift will be from 2:00 PM to 4:30 PM. The admit cards will be made available from May 15, 2026.The candidates can choose to appear for Paper I, Paper II, or both, depending upon their eligibility and choice to teach particular classes. Steps for filling the OTET Application FormApplicants need to submit the application form in an online manner through the Board of Secondary Education, Odisha website. The process starts with accessing the application form and choosing the paper of choice. After a new registration process, applicants need to log in and fill in the necessary details.The next steps in the process are to upload the scanned photograph, signature, and documents; payment of the necessary fee; and finally, downloading the application form for future reference.Direct link to visit the official websiteEligibility criteria and exam patternFor Paper I, the candidate needs to have completed the Higher Secondary course along with the D.El.Ed, B.El.Ed, or an equivalent course. For Paper II, the candidate needs to have completed the graduation course along with the B.Ed or the D.El.Ed or an equivalent course. There is no such requirement for the candidate’s age, and the candidate needs to be a permanent resident of the state of Odisha.For both the papers, the exam will contain a total of 150 objective-type questions for a total of 150 marks. The topics will cover Child Development and Pedagogy, Language I, Language II in English, and the subject-wise topics. For Paper I, the topics will cover Mathematics and Environmental Science, and for Paper II, the topics will cover either Mathematics or Science/Social Studies.
