PUTHAT 2026: Panjab University has officially started the online registration process for the Panjab University Tourism and Hospitality Aptitude Test (PUTHAT) 2026. Aspiring candidates can now submit their applications through the University’s official website, puchd.ac.in. The entrance examination is scheduled to take place on 9 January, 2026.PUTHAT is held annually for admission to two undergraduate professional programmes offered by the University’s Institute of Hotel and Tourism Management. These include the four-year Bachelor of Hotel Management and Catering Technology (BHMCT) and the Bachelor of Tourism and Travel Management (BTTM) degrees.For the 2026 admission cycle, the BHMCT course offers 60 seats, along with six seats reserved for Non-Resident Indian candidates and 15 seats for foreign nationals. In the BTTM programme, 30 seats are available, in addition to three Non-Resident Indian seats and eight seats for foreign national applicants.The application fee for the PUTHAT 2026 examination has been fixed at Rs 2,850 for general category candidates, while those belonging to other categories will be required to pay Rs 1,425.

PUTHAT 2026: Exam pattern
According to the University’s detailed prospectus, the test will comprise 100 objective-type questions, each carrying one mark. Candidates will have 90 minutes to complete the paper. A system of negative marking will apply, under which 0.25 marks will be deducted for every incorrect response.The section-wise distribution of questions is given below:
