Prince Yadav has joined S Sreesanth and Ravichandran Ashwin on a rare list of Indian batters after hitting three fours against the West Indies in the third T20I in Indore on Sunday. He became only the third Indian batter batting at No. 10 or No. 11 to hit at least three boundaries in a T20 International. The feat came after a gap of 15 years, with Ashwin being the last Indian batter to achieve it in 2011. Prince’s late contribution also helped India reach 223 before the hosts secured a 14-run victory to take a 2-1 lead in the five-match series.

Three boundaries in the final over

Prince came out to bat in the 19th over with India at 202/8. With wickets falling towards the end of the innings, he made the most of his opportunity by hitting three fours off Shamar Joseph. He opened his account with a boundary through deep mid-wicket off a low full toss. Two balls later, he read the delivery well and scooped it over wicketkeeper Shai Hope for another four.Prince then got a thick top edge off a short-of-length delivery, which flew over short third man to give him his third boundary of the over. He also ran a bye during the over as the West Indies players questioned the umpire’s decision. His quick scoring helped India add useful runs at a crucial stage and finish with 223.

India bowlers seal 14-run win
