The order followed a report submitted by the Enforcement Directorate (ED), which sought a probe into alleged payments made by Cochin Minerals and Rutile Limited (CMRL) to Veena T, Vijayan’s daughter, through her now-defunct company, Exalogic Solutions. The ED has alleged that CMRL made fraudulent payments of Rs 2.78 crore under the guise of IT consultancy services. The state government had opposed the registration of an FIR, arguing that the ED report was insufficient and that a preliminary inquiry was necessary.
