NEW DELHI: The petition filed by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and 10 other opposition leaders against the Election Commission of India (ECI) was not listed for hearing in the Supreme Court on Tuesday as defects flagged by the registry remain to be rectified, news agency PTI reported.According to the Supreme Court website, the registry had pointed out 14 defects in the petition, including the absence of a clear copy of the identity card of Congress president and Leader of Opposition in the Rajya Sabha, Mallikarjun Kharge, who is among the petitioners. The registry also flagged illegible or missing pages in the documents submitted.Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut, who is also a petitioner, acknowledged the discrepancies on Tuesday and said the opposition would rectify them. Speaking to ANI, Raut said the petition had a shortfall of Rs 220 in the filing fee and referred to errors involving 14 documents.“There might be some errors in it, which we will now rectify and repair,” Raut said, adding that the leaders who participated in Monday’s protest were petitioners in the legal challenge.
